The Allerton Project Podcast
For 30 Years the GWCT’s Allerton Project has been conducting pioneering research into nature friendly farming on our 300 hectare mixed farm estate on the Leics Rutland border.
Biodiversity, habitat creation, resource use efficiency, land use and carbon – these issues have never been more relevant as Britain’s farmers look to move towards more sustainable farming solutions focussing on environmentally friendly farming and boosting our stocks of natural capital whilst feeding a growing population with high quality nutritious food.
Here on the Allerton Podcast we aim to take an informal delve into these big issues of our time and hopefully help lead the way towards a more sustainable, profitable future for the food and farming sector by taking a look at some of our 30 years of research, also talking to some of the people and organisation trying to make a difference to the way we farm and what we eat.
Farming it’s the biggest job on earth but how can we rise to the challenge of feeding 10 billion people by 2050 without exceeding our planetary boundaries.
